Make sure that you finish all your Packing before the Moving Company's Crew arrives at your place. You should be there in person. Arrange some volunteers among your friends, relatives etc. to help you with this process.

Always keep on hand the list of packed items. Tick your belongings off the list the moment they are loaded on to the Moving Vehicle. This will prevent confusion at later stages.

Load cumbersome belongings like wooden furniture at the out set itself. Place these belongings on the floor of the Moving Vehicle. Before loading these items, make sure that these pieces of furniture are sturdy enough, to support the whole pile. Put on them the other belongings. Fasten your belongings tightly, so that they will REMAIN undamaged during the move.

Insist on your Mover to provide you a single Moving Vehicle that is big enough. Make a list of all the items of yours that are loaded on to the Moving Vehicle. This list is called inventory. Make copies of this document. Make sure that every copy of inventory contains the signatures of both the driver and yourself. Give a copy of the inventory to the driver of the Moving Vehicle.
